Press Release – Jenson Appoint Martin Punt as Portfolio Development Manager

Jenson Funding Partners are delighted to announce that Martin Punt has joined the team as Portfolio Development Manager.  Martin will be working alongside Lisa Matthews and the team supporting our portfolio companies and bolstering the growth opportunities available to them.

Martin joins us from the BVCA where he was instrumental in the growth of the BVCA membership among the venture community, prior to that Martin spent 14 years as a business developer for a variety of corporate legal firms in London including SJ Berwin, DLA Piper and Addleshaw Goddard.  He is also a volunteer for Diversity VC and assisted on the Future VC selection process.  Martin is a qualified football coach (FA Level Two) and in his spare time manages two local youth football teams at Under 7 and Under 9 age groups.

Martin commented: “Having spent 10 years around the private markets ecosystem from both an advisory (legal profession) and public advocacy (trade association) perspective, I found my passion was drawn towards the venture industry.

Through my time and influence at the BVCA I have provided support to many emerging (and established) VC funds from set up, connecting, and raising profile to LP connection intros. It’s through this support I found that the venture industry is where I wanted to focus my attention on, and somewhat “jump over the fence” into.

Having known the Jenson Funding Partners team for a short time, I was delighted to see a position available in the fund. Jenson has always looked an interesting venture fund and given their stage of investment focus being at the earliest rounds, my attention was drawn to working with them. Coming in to work alongside some outstanding and interesting founders as part of the portfolio is really appealing and I hope to apply some of my experience and network to their future growth. There is growing demand for SEIS products and with Jenson there is a massive opportunity to further my career.”
